Bajaj founded in 1945 changed its logo in 2004 . The old logo was replaced by a new ‘B’ . According to Bajaj it represents a flying bird . Many people have compared the logo to the bluetooths logo .

Bluetooth logo looks similar , although its is pretty sharp compared to Bajaj. It also happens to have a sharp line . But issue was raised on the new logo by none other than Volkswagen .

Volkswagen claimed that bajaj has ripped off its logo . The bajaj logo iss rotated looks like volkswagen logo they said . Volkswagen released an entire statement on the issue .The notice says Bajaj’s newly revamped logo bears a striking similarity to Volkswagen’s trademark VW logo. In fact, the logos are so similar that lawyers say even if it is an error or an inadvertent move on the part of Bajaj, the rendition falls under deceptive similarity, a common contention in trademark violations.

Although Volkswagen didnt pursue this argument further. If they had procedded to court volkswagen would have to prove that it looks similar . Public poll would be used by the court . Bajaj is not into cars as of yet . But they are planning to . Once Bajaj enters the car space this case might reignite .
